How Can Parents Support Their Children With  A Career Planning Strategy?

Research shows that career planning should start as early as possible. It is never too early to start talking about careers, and we can help our children by doing some of the following:

  • Talk with your child about their interests
  • Share information about your own career with your child
  • Provide opportunities for your child to visit you at work
  • Expose your child to various occupations, allowing your child to take part in “job shadowing” when they are older
  • Provide age appropriate information and only as much information as your child can understand
  • Grow your network to help to introduce your child as they get older to those in the career or business that they may wish to enter.

Our Young People Have Options

 Should Our Children Start

Their Own Businesses?

The world of entrepreneurship is not a route for everyone, but it is certainly an option that we positively encourage all of our young people and parents to look into.

There are risks and rewards in business - developing relationship skills, having mentors and researching your niche will aid your success!
